About

The Generator

The Generator provides a hub for students to engage beyond the classroom.

The Generator is specifically interested in exhibiting the things that inspire student work, however abstract the connection may be to their University submissions. It also exhibits top student work giving greater coverage and encouragement.

Some of the content the Generator aims to cover will include:

  • Online Exhibitions
  • Student initiated and controlled design projects.
  • Design competitions and events.
  • Reviews
  • Guest Bloggers
  • Interviews
  • Comments and critiques, reviews and other matter

Online Exhibitions of selected student work will include pieces submitted as apart of their course work, private research, investigations and works of inspiration. The exhibitions will involve more than traditional architectural rendering stretching between articles and art.

Reviews will extend to exhibitions, lectures and events run by Melbourne Galleries, theatres, art spaces and The University of Melbourne to illustrate the broad range of events and work which influence and inspire students.

Guest Bloggers will provide insight into current students work engaged in a range of disciplines, students on exchange and affiliates engaged in institutions of interest.

Interviews and video blogs with recent graduates, inspirational Architects, Designers and people of interest to The Generator.

The not so small print::::::::::::::::::::

Student bloggers run The Generator and as such describe their experiences in their own way, so the posts are not moderated for grammar, spelling, or general content.  However as this blog is supported and hosted by the faculty we will keep an eye out in case there are any particularly inappropriate comments (language, personal attacks etc) and moderate them as soon as we can.  If an entry is ever edited, we will say so in the entry.
