Bachelor of Environments Alumni: Architecture
I chose the Bachelor of Environments because I wanted to study Architecture.
I decided to major in Architecture because I am passionate about architecture.
My favourite subjects were the Architecture Design Studios. It is fascinating to develop your own projects, do research, design, solve problems and finally present them to other people.
To me, studying at the University of Melbourne meant studying at one of the best universities in the world.
My advice to new students is being an architecture student is very exciting if you are really passionate about architecture. It is a great environment to be in. Be confident of your ideas. Don’t let people tell you how or what to design. If they don’t agree with your ideas, defend yourself! But remember to always be open to others’ comments.
I am looking forward to going back to uni and finish Master of Architecture at UoM.
Five words that sum me up are Creative, organized, goal driven, persistent, efficient
My personal motto is It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. (It’s from Galatians 2:20)
RUTH IS NOW WORKING IN THE INDUSTRY
What do you do? I am a student architect at John Wardle Architects. How did you find your job? It’s been great. I have never worked at the industry before. I think it is very interesting to know how an industry actually works.
Recently I have been working on I have been helping around with simple tasks in several projects, including residential and institutional.
